The House of Assembly member representing Ofu constituency, Dr. Friday Alih has once again described his victory at the poll as the act of God and his people’s resilient quest for brilliant, accountable and responsive representation.
While addressing journalists at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Headquarters in Abuja shortly after he collected his Certificate Of Return, Dr Alih declared that he is dedicating his Certificate of Return to God and the good people of Ofu Local Government Area.
Dr Alih maintained that his victory, after the fourth elections into the same seat, has reaffirmed the divine mandate on him as the peoples’ servant to better the lives of the people and members of his constituency through sound legislative contributions.
He urged his co-contestants, good people of Ofu LGA, party supporters, traditional rulers and all other relevant stakeholders to join hands with him so as to take Ofu and the State to the highest pedestal of development, adding that “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, not minding the time lost so far, but what matter most is the recovery of the mandate and the quality of legislative contributions with direct positive impact on the people “.
He further maintained that, his door is always and widely open for positive Advice and constructive criticism aimed at putting him on his toes in the overall interest of Ofu LGA and the State in general.
Dr Alih appreciated his team, the youths, friends and associates and the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, for the show of love through out his judicial struggles and the rerun election that culminated in victory today.
