A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mopamuro Local Government Area of the state, Comrade Atteh Adeleke, has expressed the hope that the party’s candidate, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, would trounce his opponents in the November 11th governorship election in the state.
The young, promising politician who revealed this during an interaction with newsmen in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, Wednesday, rated the APC candidate high above other contestants in the guber race, noting that there are clear indications that the APC would have smooth sail to victory in the poll.
Comade Atteh, vast in grass roots mobilisation and coordination, maintained that the APC candidate would be fair and just in the governance of the state if elected, and appealed to the people of the state to disregard all the drum beats of ethnicity and other sentiments in the interest of the peace, unity and shared prosperity of the state.
He particularly called on the people of Kogi West Senatorial District, especially his Okun compatriots, to seize the opportunity of the coming election to build strong political alliance with the governing party with a view towards actualizing the governorship dream of the Senatorial district.
The APC stalwart, a committed mobiliser for the party’s governorship candidate, emphasized that the APC would be campaigning with the many achievements of the present administration, especially in the health and education sectors, as well as security and infrastructure where Governor Yahaya Bello is leaving indelible footprints behind.
Apart from the physical achievements of the administration, Governor Bello, he pointed out, pioneered deliberate policy of women and youths engagements in politics and governance where the women and youths are given the opportunities to learn and grow leadership skills.
The APC candidate, he stressed, is one out of the endless list of young men and women discovered and groomed by Governor Bello to excel in leadership, noting that Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, is not just a fine administrator, but a detribalized, compassionate and God-fearing politician who would govern the state in fairness, justice and equity.
He assured of Ododo’s large-heartedness and sensitivity to the issues that agitates the minds of the people of Kogi West and the Okun nation, in particular. ” Ododo knows and feels our pain. He will rally round us to achieve this long-standing agitation when the time comes”, he assured.
While pledging his unreserved loyalty to the party and its leaders at all levels, Comrade Atteh expressed his renewed commitment to the task of ensuring overwhelming victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming governorship election.
