The Okun Development Association (ODA) has expressed joy on the safe release of Oba James Dada Ogunyanda, the monarch of Okoloke in Yagba West local government after spending weeks in kidnappers’ den.
Reacting to his release, ODA said the traditional ruler’s release brings immense relief to the entire kingdom and the broader community.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Thomas, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, ODA expressed gratitude to Kogi state government for the tireless efforts and support in securing monarch’s release.

“We also appreciate the prominent stakeholders who worked behind the scenes to facilitate this outcome. Our gratitude equally goes to family members, well-wishers, and the community at large for their unwavering support and prayers during this challenging period.
“As we celebrate HRH Oba Ogunyanda’s safe return, we pray that God will perfect all security plans and bring an end to the menace of kidnapping in our community,” the statement added.
ODA expressed optimism that experience will serve as a catalyst for strengthened security measures and enhanced community vigilance.
