Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has congratulated the oldest monarch in Northern Nigeria, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebayo Ikusemoro, the Olubunu of Bunu land on his 95th birthday celebration.

The Speaker said it is a cheering news to see an outstanding monarch like Oba Ikusemoro celebrating yet another fruitful year on earth. He noted that the monarch’s attributes of hard work, honesty, boldness and simplicity  has endeared him to his people over the years.

He stressed that the royal father is one of the major pillar of his political sojourn, no wonder his strong character of patriotism earned him the royal stool in 1963 when the late Sarduna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello personally came to Olle – Bunu to crown him as the first Olubunu of Bunuland.

Kolawole said Oba Adebayo Ikusemoro has carved a niche for himself looking at his monumental contributions to the overall development of not only Bunuland but Okun nation, as one time acting Chairman of Okun Area Traditional Council, a position he used to the admiration of the people, stressing that  Kogi State is happy to have a royal father of his calibre,  praying that God in His infinite mercy shall continue to grant him good health to live long for the benefit of humanity.

He prayed that God will grant him more years ahead in good health and prosperity.
