The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Kogi state chapter, has expressed overwhelming gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for for his continued support for the association.
Speaking with the press on Monday, the chairman of the association, Dr Tolu Omotugba thanked Gov. Ododo for the gift of a Toyota Sienna which is considered timely due to the need for members of the association to efficiently cope with the daunting tasks associated with their profession within and outside the state.
He emphasized that Veterinarians act as frontline diagnosticians and disease controllers, especially for zoonotic diseases.
According to him, Vet doctors are saddled with the onerous task of providing disease surveillance, conducting risk assessments, ensuring food safety from animals, and promoting public health through vaccination and parasite control programs.
“Additionally, they play a crucial role in managing the human-animal bond and advising owners, particularly those who are immunocompromised, to prevent the spread of disease.
“It is for these reasons that we would like to most graciously thank His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo who has deemed it imperative to support the association with mobility to ease their movement in contributing to ONE HEALTH,” he said.

The Association also send words of appreciation to the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Multilateral and Donor Funded Projects, Dr Abdullahi Sanni Ozomata, for being a worthy member and ambassador of the Veterinary profession while assuring him of unabated support and prayers for his principal.
