NULGE Lauds Ofu LG Boss on Achievements

Ofu Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Isah Ameh has been commended for his laudable infrastructural development and commitment to staff welfare.

This is contained in a press statement made available to The Graphic by the Public Relations Officer of the local government area, Stephen Achimugu.

The forum of Chairmen, Kogi East Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), gave the commendation while paying a   courtesy call on the Council Chairman in his office at the Local Government Secretariat, Ugwolawo.

The Chairman of the forum, Comrade Tahiru Abdullahi who is also the Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government branch of the Union described Isah Ameh as a workaholic whose landmark achievements was worthy of commendation and called on other Council Chairmen in the State to emulate him.

Comrade Abdulahi used the occasion to appreciate the Council Chairman, Comrade Isah Ameh for his co-operation to the Union in terms of prompt payment of Salary to the Staff, and called for more efforts in ensuring that full salaries are paid along with other legitimate benefits to the workers in the interest of industrial harmony.

Earlier, the NULGE Chairman, Ofu Local Government branch, Comrade Muazu Aliyu who played host to the forum noted with satisfaction the level of co-operation between the Union and the management in the Area, and appealed to the management to further consider the implementation of Staff promotion and the annual incremental rates.

Responding, the Council Chairman who was represented at the occasion by the Director of Local Government, Alhaji Sahuaibu Onalo expressed confidence in the leadership of the Union in the area, and praised the entire members of the Union at all levels for their maturity and understanding.

The Director of Local Government assured members of the Union, the total commitment of the present administration under Comrade Isah Ameh to the staff welfare, adding that everything possible would be done to improve on the present situation, and called on the leadership of the Union to be patient with the management.

In their separate remarks, the Local Government Treasurer, Mr. C Akoje and Personnel Management, Mallam M.K Sule described the Council Chairman, Comrade Isah Ameh as workers friendly and called on the staff to reciprocate the gesture by coming to work on time and remain on duty still the closing hour.
