It is because modern education is so seldom inspired by a great hope that it so seldom achieves great results. The wish to preserve the past rather than the hope of creating the future dominates the minds of those who control the teaching of the young. ” — Bertrand Russell
Ladies and gentlemen of Kogi West senatorial district, I count myself privileged to share this great state (Kogi) with you. God Almighty have got reason(s) for bringing us together to form a state. This letter is neither to initiate any revolution between the West and Central senatorial districts nor is it to accuse any of the three senatorial districts as  the cause of our present predicament as a state. It’s not to abuse any senatorial district’s but to challenge us to put on our thinking caps before allowing politicians divide us as youths.
“I don’t believe in charity. I believe in solidarity. Charity is vertical, so it’s humiliating. It goes from the top to the bottom. Solidarity is horizontal. It respects the other and learns from the other. I have a lot to learn from other people.” — Eduardo Galeano
“Washing one’s hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral.” — Paulo Freire
There is no senatorial district that can bring the dream of Kogi state to reality without some consolidating inputs from the rest districts in Kogi state. “Cowardice is when you think you can make it happen without other input”
Our fathers have successfully possessed the land for us, it is in every father’s dream to see his children waxing stronger in unity, development in terms of the inheritance he left with them but this is not what we have today in our dear stake.
Our backwardness is not really because we had bad leaders but because we have abundance of  wicked and Clueless Followers (Youths) whose appetites for good governance have been exchanged with selfish interest. They rather eat the future of their children’s children than to lay a foundation where they can display their God given talent and make the society great and better for the next generation.
The great youths of Okunland, today is not to speak to these men who are seated on our collective  destiny dishing out tokens for the youths to commit crime against themselves. Today is about speaking to ourselves and understanding ourselves, our responsibilities and our expectations.
Democracy is said to be known as a system of government that gives voice to the youths but it has  always  been redefined by accidental leaders who steal our voice, unity and use us against ourselves. Unity is strength. When there is teamwork and collaboration, we set on achieving great and mighty things while maximizing our potentials. A society without unity cannot be safe; no unity no security; no unity no progress; no unity no development; no unity no peace.
No wonder J.K Rowlings of Ghana said, “We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided”.
We must understand the strategies of these men. The Central, West and East senatorial districts are not at war. We are youths of Kogi state, infact we are the Kogi state…and it will be insane to face ourselves and draw up swords against ourselves in defence of our exploitative leaders who merry at the expense of our division.
A house set against itself cannot stand. We will end up having giants who cannot go for battle as long as we are against ourselves. We may end up being  hunters equipped with the state of the art weapons but cannot hunt for antelope.
Our best brains, talents and skills will not be properly harnessed without collaboration and partnership to channel our course as youths.
Time will not permit me to go in details of how I started being a man from Agbede Kabba bunu. My first seed in the ground gave a rich harvest that you can’t differentiate between my Ebira yams and the indigenous yams.
The land never reject my seeds because I’m of from the Central senatorial district . The people did not refuse to buy my produce because I’m from the Central senatorial district. We must learn to walk together to fix the falling walls of Kogi state regardless of our language and location.
Hatred is a weapon in the hands of the enemy to destroy, scatter and kill the youths. But the wise ones amongst us will counter the enemy with the weapon of wisdom and love. Always remember we are each other’s harvest; we are each other’s business; we are each other’s magnitude and bond.
Central, West and East senatorial districts are one body, one people with one God regardless of the seed of hatred sowed by the selfish politicians of our time. We must also understand when there are no enemies within, the enemies outside cannot hurt us. Let’s put our house in order to avert future predicament.
It is always said, “our destiny is our hands” but I say to us “our destiny is in the hand of our maker (God)” but He has made available to us choices and today OGO’OGU is beckoning on you to choose love and unity so that we can both fulfil our destinies as  youths prepared and made ready to take the mantle of leadership when opportunity presents itself.
Come let join hands to make Kogi great, Come let’s engage our heads for good governance, let’s engage our political leaders with constructive criticism, let’s put them on the run for good leadership in our state. Enough is enough for abuse of leadership in Kogi state.
Come let’s take the banner of justice, equity and fairness to the centre of Kogi state. Let the Central, West the East embrace themselves and reject political crises which have hindered and almost crippled democracy In the state.
It is the duty of the youths to take the campaign against crime to every nook and cranny of the state and I am sure if our unity is built on foundation of truth without bias and hypocrisy we will achieve result.
The leadership of NYCN has been shifted to your zone. I charge Mr Chairman, Oladele John Nihi as a matter of urgency to organize a Unity conference where our youths from Central, East and West can be given orientation and motivated to engage in politics with creative ideas and innovation. We must use that office of Chairman to reposition our youths strategically for the benefit of Kogi state and Nigeria at large. It is one thing to win an election but another thing to use the position to impact lives. I am interested in the activities of NYCN of Kogi state like never before.
“The decision you refuse to take today will over take you and after some time locate the wrong person that will take advantage of you”. come let’s take responsibility for a peaceful coexistence amongst the youths in Kogi state.
We must understand language is not given to us by God to fight ourselves, but to build an enduring nation where humanity will appreciate the uniqueness of others and to spread peace and joy on earth.
Democracy is said to be an institution of justice, Unity, Equity and Fairness but now it’s been bastardized and abused by greedy men in power. I believe if there is going to be a change it can only come from us (the youths of Kogi state). The better we know that our backwardness  in knowledge determines the backwardness  of the state and our progress in acquiring knowledge and skills determine the progress of the state.
Instead of hanging around politicians skimming on how to steal, kill and destroy why not don’t you get yourself engaged with skills. Instead of collecting peanuts from politicians to assassinate leaders, get busy with knowledge. The truth I tell you Okun Youths, the future is bright with men and women who possess skills and talent coupled with wisdom and not with criminals and bootlickers who initiate crisis among her citizens.
In a nation like Nigeria, talent and hard work are important, but they’ll only get you to a certain level. If you aspire for advancement, if you dream of being the next President, Governor, member of Senate or House of Representative, Local Government Chairman, or counsellor or if you just want be the kind of people’s manager who can supercharge a team and motivate your people to exceed even beyond their own expectations, you’ll need to learn how to think and act like a leader now.
Ladies and gentlemen of Okun kingdom, my fellow patriotic youths of Kogi state, you don’t have to be born a great leader. Great leadership is a skill you can learn and the best Time to do so is now.
How good and how pleasant it is for people  to dwell together in unity?
God almighty understand the power of unity and he speak through  Paul. Permit me to quote Mr Paul. He said and I quote, “I beseech you…that there be no divisions among you, but…be perfectly joined together in the same mind” – 1Cor1;10
Be ye of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you 2Cor13:11
Stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together Phil1:27
Great Okun youths, it is not a mistake you have come to share this great state with other senatorial districts, this is the mind of God for us, to dwell and live peacefully and the earlier we embrace divine ideology concern us as a people the better for our society.
If we refuse to stand for something we will all fall for nothing. Let’s make up our minds as youths to right the wrongs, the mistake of our fathers must not be allowed to shortchange our destiny again, Kogi youths are not terrorists, we are not criminals, we don’t accommodate immoralities. We are youths under construction to take the battle of good governance to the gate of criminals in power.
We are youths purged by God and made ready for political revival in our state. Kogi in our time will flourish, our fathers and mothers will sleep well, our economy will grow faster than that of Lagos and Kano. We will be called a united state that can not be shaken by politics of character assassination and hatred.
Democracy will fulfill her destiny on that day, your eyes, my eyes, and our eyes will see a new Kogi state.
God bless Okun youths.
God bless Kogi state.
God bless Nigeria
Kogi Will Never Be The Same Again.
