It was a historic day in Lokoja, the ancient capital of Kogi state on Saturday 18th February when youths and elders of the 19 states of northern Nigeria under the auspices of Northern (Arewa) Youth Council of Nigeria gathered to honour three sons of Kogi state who have contributed immensely towards youth development in their various professions.

Prominent among the award recipients was Baba Ojonugwa (J.F.O), the newly elected Second National Vice President of the largest music union in Africa, the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN).

The Kogi born entertainment entrepreneur, who was honoured with the Sardauna Platinum honour award for his contribution to youth development in northern Nigeria, could not hold his joy for the recognition. He thanked the elders who nominated him and youths who found him worthy. He promised not to relent in his developmental strides.

Present at the event were representatives of all the northern state governors, a former speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, a national House of Representatives member, the Special Adviser to Kogi state governor on Health, Dr. Attah and a host of others. Entertainers from Kogi state were not left out as they all came to celebrate their own.

Baba Ojonugwa is the first entertainment practitioner to be so honoured in northern Nigeria.
