The Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada, has revealed that the Northern Governor’s Forum has resolved to pursue issues of economic Development of the region and play down on the issues of politics.
The Governor stated this at the end of the forums meeting today,said the forum met to discuss issues of development that will improve the well-being of its people.
The North, Wada noted has always spoken with one voice on the issues affecting the region in times past,said the time to once again make the people the centre of leadership is now and not dissipate energy on mundane issues.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, said the forum promised to resolve to address issues of national interest, described the forum as one united family and denied any crack in the forum.
In a statement, the Governor assured of on going talks that will bring lasting peace between Kogi and its Anambra state neighbours over the disputed crisis arising from the discovery of oil,said recent talks have prove successful,called on the people of the two state to remain peaceful.
Wada, appealed to workers of the New Nigerian Newspaper to exercise a little restraint as efforts to clear their backlog of salaries, pension and the repositioning of the organization is on course and will soon be addressed.
The Governor commended the Federal Government on the release of a trench of its obligation to the clearing of outstanding pension,appealed for the release of the balance to enable the repositioning of the organization.
