By way of sanction, the Management of Kogi State University has suspended the entire medical students for two weeks.

This suspension is not unconnected with the Monday protest by the students which made the news.

The students were demanding a fast-track of their accreditation which was not forthcoming for over 5 years.
Recall that the Vice-Chancellor of the University was away when the students protested.
However, in an Internal Memorandum signed by the Deputy Registrar, Mr J.U. Amodu on Wednesday, the students have been asked to proceed on a compulsory two-weeks break.

The statement which instructed strict compliance also directed the students to vacate their hostel accommodation before 6pm of Wednesday.
