We believe the performance of any our representative should give him the singular opportunity to continue to carry on with the laudable programmes he has initiated for the benefit of the people of his constituency.
Many Nigerians are happy seeing the contributions of Senator Smart Adeyemi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the Red Chamber. He has caught a niche for himself defending the cause of the underprivileged. He is articulate and his cerebral contribution has made him one of the best senators in the Upper House.
His background as a seasoned journalist and one-time president of the powerful Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has helped him in no small measure in the Senate.
The people of Kogi West Senatorial District are happy with his contributions at Senate and for ameliorating the plight of the common man. His love for the masses has endeared him to them and earned him massive grass root support. Scores of people-employed and unemployed- throng his house and office to have a feel of his human touch and give them a sense of belonging.
Senator Adeyemi’s leadership of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the support of members of the committee have made Abuja one of the best capital cities in the world. Of particular importance was the manner he handled the demolition of estates.
The Senator’s return to the Upper Chamber to continue his good work, therefore, is not negotiable. We in the senatorial district declare that there is no vacancy in our constituency and that any attempt to challenge Senator Adeyemi by anyone will result in failure.
His performance has rekindled our hope that journalists in this country, if given leadership position will always bring succour to the people as exemplified in Senator Adeyemi.
We all hope he will continue to deliver the good and bring the much-needed development to his constituents and constituency.
