No PDP, APC in Kogi State House of Assembly – Victor Omofaiye

The Federated Chapel of the Kogi state chapter of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), yesterday, honoured Honourable Victor Omofaiye with an award of excellence for his effective representation and community service.

Omofaiye is the member representing Ijumu state constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly.

The award was presented to Omofaiye at the stakeholder round-table discourse on Kogi State 2017 draft budget. The round-table discourse, organised by the Federated Chapel, featured paper presentations by civil society groups and Hon. Omofaiye.

Omofaiye, who spoke on ‘the place of oversight in making budget of New Direction a reality’, said Kogi State House of Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker Umar Imam is focused, hard working and committed to the overall development of the state.

He said that there neither PDP nor APC exist on the floor of Kogi State House of Assembly,  as the only recognised political party in the House is ‘Good Governance’. He called on all Kogites to always work for the peace, unity, justice and development of Kogi State which is our own Jerusalem on earth.

The lawmaker assured that as soon as the 2017 budget is passed and accented to, all House committees will commence full oversight functions in order to ensure full and transparent implementation of the budget for the overall benefit of the state. He said there will be no room for fraudulent contractors or supervising ministries in the state because all implementation activities will be well monitored.
