Kogi state government has given an award of excellence to the Nigeria Mainstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) for their outstanding performance in the state.
The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, presented the award on behalf of the state government to the State Coordinator of NMDPRA, Engr. Ogbe Orits Godwin.
Kogi government commended NMDPRA for the development and supports for the oil and gas sector by ensuring that during the flood, Kogi State did not lack petroleum products.
“The government knows that fuel is the blood line that runs the whole nation. If there is no fuel in Kogi, things will be difficult for the people including transportation of food and essential commodities,” she said.
Responding, the Kogi State Coordinator of NMDPRA commended Governor Usman Ododo for his remarkable achievements in the state.
He promised that the agency will not relent in ensuring that petroleum products are steadily available for the people of Kogi State.
While reminding the government that NMDPRA has nip alleged sharp practices by some petroleum marketers in the state in the bud, Engr. Godwin admonished the general public to report any erring marketers sabotaging the efforts of the agency in the state.
The Kogi NMDPRA Coordinator, however, thanked the Executive Director of the agency, Engr Farouk Ahmed for his support to Lokoja field office.
“This is a man who has given us all the needed support to succeed in Kogi State. His words of encouragement to members of staff remains a moral booster for the agency to function effectively. We will continue to put in our best in achieving the set mission and vision statement of NMDPRA in Kogi State and Nigeria in general,” he said.
Engr. Godwin further appreciated NMDPRA Executive Director, Distribution System Storage and Retailing Infrastructure (DSSRI), Ogbugo K. Ukoha and the North Central Coordinator of NMDPRA Abuja, Mrs Maijiddah S. Abdulkadir for their relentlessly commitment in making the agency carry out it functions diligently in Kogi State without stress.
Staff of the Kogi state NMDPRA Lokoja also gathered to celebrate their collective efforts that yielded the award of excellence.
