In a move to deepening development within the base and security, the Nigerian Naval Ship NNS Lugard has expressed the desire for collaborative efforts with the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Leke Abejide.
This was disclosed by the base commander, Commodore Adetayo Olushola Ojo, during Abejide’s visit to the command base, Banda, Lokoja, on Sunday.

Ojo and his team highlighted that collaboration is essential to improving NNS Lugard’s operational efficiency and increasing its impact. Such partnerships, he emphasized, are crucial for the overall effectiveness of the base.
Accentuating some of the challenges the NNS Lugard Lokoja is facing and the efforts in place to address those challenges, Ojo showed the lawmaker around some of the ongoing projects at the base. As part of the efforts to foster development at the base, he explained that his team decided to synergize with the lawmaker owing to what he described as his track record of positive impacts especially on security, and social development.
In his remarks, Abejide, who was accompanied by his wife, Chief (Mrs) Esther Abejide, member, Kogi State House of Assembly (Yagba East State Constituency), Hon Emmanuel Obaro and Chairman, Yagba East Local Council, Hon Dare Joshua, among others, appreciated the leadership of the base for their commitment to national development and safety.
He commended the NNS Lugard Lokoja command for the forward-looking projects on the ground and assured them of his readiness to work with the team towards deepening development and security.
