Nigerian Navy Gives Free Medical Serivces To Okura Community

The Nigerian Navy is to ensure that the Ministry of Defence take up the Naval Transformation Agenda towards the realization of vision 20 20 20. This was part of a 15 point communiqué and resolutions of the five – day conference of the Chief of the Naval Staff held in Lokoja the Kogi state capital.

Chief of Naval Staff represented by the Naval Headquarters Director of Medical Services and leader of the medical team Rear Admiral Azeez Bayo Afolayan disclosed that the rhapsody is a platform to bring the Nigerian Navy closer to rural communities through medical services as a grass-root outreach for social responsibilities.

Officer-In-Charge of Okura-Lafia Health facility Nicholas Ejeh listed malaria and high blood pressures as some of the major challenges facing the community. There was also a general health talk by the representative of the society for family health.
