Kogi born multi-talented singer, song writer cum producer, Yahaya Abdullah, professionally known as Yatizee, has said that Nigerian music industry is too competitive and he cannot give up on his ambition, because he admire all intricacies of music.
“Music is everything I have and the only thing I believe in. I can never give up music for anything.” He, however, stressed that it is not easy to penetrate the Nigerian music industry, adding that the country is largely blessed with musicians full of talent.
The Mama Caro singer, on his official twitter handle, stated that “there is a lot of competition in the music industry across the globe, especially in Nigeria where the cost of music production is unbearably exorbitant, but breaking the yoke is not just a promise that should be contemplated, rather a must affair.”
Yatizee said “when you look how far I have come, I deserve nothing than to glorify Almighty Allah, and also myself. This is because the journey has been through thick and thin. Money has been a great obstacle to the actualization of my dream, owing to the high cost of production in the country. However, my relentless efforts has been paying, and to a larger extent harvested the ones I have used overtime in some of my release. For this singular effort, the self can not be less recognized and appreciated. Music has been my passion from cradle and I will forever engage in it to achieve that breakthrough.
“Knowing what to do is something, and how to do it perfectly to the satisfaction of the audience is another task that need to be overcome. It is always my desire to give my fans what could thrill them to their respective bone marrow.
“Writing and producing songs without feasibility of your audience is one of the reasons most Nigeria artists are winding out of the industry. You cannot walk into the studio or pick your writing materials without knowing what your fans desire from you. There is need for a survey to ascertain your fans need and dislikes. From what I have seen from them so far, It will not be misleading to conclude that the stage is for Yatizee to roll”, he said.
Yatizee also disclosed that “one of the barriers that I am facing right now is the problem of acceptability and recognition. This problem is usually faced by virtually all or many upcoming musicians. Hardly can one escape the experience, and I can not hold on to it as a challenge. Since Wizkid came from nowhere, and had a breakthrough in the industry, why can’t I trend?”
Yatizee who is winning over growing legion of fans, not just for his captivating beats or his beautiful voice, but upliftment arising from his inspirational and motivational messages that are cloned in his song.
However, he was signed into MM Gang record label and he teamed up with Simple Boy, Young Sturna Boy and young money to produce mouthful song last week, the absolutely stunning and well composition, cum party heat jam.
