Deputy governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the forthcoming November 11 election in Kogi State, Dr. Omede Idris has congratulated Nigerians on the celebration of the 63 years of the nation’s independence.

Dr. Omede, in a goodwill message in Lokoja on Sunday, said the divine hand on the country has so many purposes geared towards actualising the dreams of the founding fathers and aspirations of Nigerians.

He noted that this year’s independence anniversary unlike previous ones is unique in reminding us of our chequered path and history to nationhood especially for those who made inestimable sacrifices for the growth, development and survival of the country.

According to him, “We can recall with great nostalgia the passion with which our founding fathers received the Charter of Freedom from our colonial masters on that memorable day and  the anxiety that greeted our journey to the nationhood till this day.” He further expressed optimism that the integrity and glory of our dear nation shall return to its original pride of place. Dr Omede posited that “for Kogi state, this is a moment to redefine our being together coupled with the peaceful coexistence necessary for development, as we go around campaigning to enthrone new elected state governor on 11th November 2023.”

He used the occasion to remind all Kogites and Kogi state dwellers of the readiness of the Rescue Mission of ADC, as symbolized by handshake to meet the expectation of the people of the state.

He further stated that the ADC leadership, if elected, would work concertedly to improve the quality of life of the people, enhance security and promote rapid overall development of Kogi State.

“We are out on a mission that must be accomplished, a determination that requires cooperation and the collaboration of all stakeholders for electoral victory and success. Let us work together to renew our dear state – Kogi, with confidence by turning out en mass on the 11th of November, 2023 to vote for the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” he said.
