Nigeria @ 57: Kogi Speaker Walks for Peace

In the spirit of celebrating Nigeria Independence, the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mathew Kolawole has joined other well meaning Kogites and Nigerians to participate in the ‘Walk For Peace’ exercise held early Saturday morning.
The ‘Walk For Peace’ is an initiative borne out of desire to sensitize Kogites, Nigerians and indeed the world at large that there is no alternative to peace and this is what Kogi State stands for.
The Speaker who walked up the historical Mount Patti hill in Lokoja with other honourable members of the 6th Assembly.
Speaking during the program, Kolawole said there’s nothing he cannot forfeit for peace to reign.
The Speaker who dedicated the walk to the 57th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria spoke on the tourism potentials of Mount Patti; assuring Kogites that the legislative and executive arms of government are already in working terms to ensure all tourist potentials in the State are properly harnessed towards creating job opportunities for the teaming youths and generating revenue for the State. He added that in no distance time Kogi State will be highly envied and sought for.
Other lawmakers who walked for peace are, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Hassan; Chief Whip, Hon. Victor Omofaiye; Hon. Ododo Moses and Hon. Musa Jimoh Omiata.
Sports men and women who regularly take on the Mount Patti were also encouraged to continue as the sporting activities will periodically keep the mountain busy.
