New Year: Ex-Gov Idris Calls for Good Governance, Peace

Former Kogi governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has stressed the need for government at all levels to imbibe the culture of good governance, peace and development as panacea to the rising political tension in Nigeria.

Ibrahim Idris in a new year message to Nigerians said no meaningful progress will be attained in the absence of a robust leadership with all good traits to ameliorate all glaring issues arising in the society.

While congratulating both the Moslems and Christians on the celebration of the Christmas and the New Year, the ex-governor urged leaders to inundate themselves with social, economic and other developmental problems bedevilling the people so as to draw a template for resolving both the immediate and remote causes.

He also suggested that for leaders to thrive, followers should learn to come to terms with the prevailing global issues affecting local, state and federal governments.

Former Governor Idris said no nation thrives when leaders operates in isolation. He stated that followers need to imbibe the culture of peace in the course of desiring progress and development of their areas.

Idris congratulated the people of Kogi state and Nigerians for witnessing the new year 2020, praying for more progress and development of the nation.

He prayed that the new year 2020 will usher in more focused and result oriented leaders that will in no distant future transform all facets of the Nigerian economy.
