The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief items to victims of windstorms in Ijumu and Lokoja local government areas of Kogi.
Mustapha Ahmed, director-general, NEMA, disclosed this to reporters in Abuja on Monday.
Mr Ahmed, represented by Justin Uwazuruonye, head of the Abuja operations office of the agency, said the distribution was done in collaboration with the Kogi Emergency Management Agency (KOSEMA).
While commiserating with the people and government of Kogi over the unfortunate incident, he said the items were to cushion the effect.
He said the items distributed included food and non-food items such as rice, beans, vegetable oil, tomato paste, spaghetti, mattresses, blankets, and nylon mats.
Other items were clothing for men, women, and children, buckets, cooking pots, stoves, plates, spoons, and cups.
The communities, comprising Iyara, Ayetoro, Agbaja, and Jamata in both LGAs, were affected by a windstorm that destroyed houses in March.
