Kogi State Coordinator of the National Examination Council (NECO), Mr Thaddeus Ajabu, has called on the Chairman, Lokoja local government council, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, to consider establishing a centre for exceptionally brilliant and gifted children.

Ajabu made the call when he paid a courtesy visit to the Lokoja Local Government Chairman on Friday.

He said his visit to the Executive Chairman was a continuation of similar visits to engage critical stakeholders to unveil the numerous programmes of the National Examination Council (NECO).

He also used the opportunity to appeal to the Chairman and other stakeholders to take advantage of the SSCE external examination which now has two centres in Lokoja Local Government to support and sponsor indigent students.

In his response, Comrade Adamu appreciated the Coordinators for the visit. He noted that the engagement has availed him so much information and opened his eyes to the many activities of the council.

The Council Chairman stated that both individually and as a government, they will continue to support Indigents students.

He assured the NECO officials that Lokoja Local Government would formally engage the Council to know what it takes to set up a centre for the gifted in the local government before the end of the first quarter.
