Ndako Awards Scholarship to Kogi Local Government Students

At a period of economic recession when the cost of education has gone out of the reach of many, especially the purchase of Joint Admission and Matriculation Form (JAMB), the member  representing Lokoja II constituency at the Kogi State House of  Assembly, Hon Idris Ndako has for the second time running sustained his scholarship scheme for students outside his Lokoja II constituency.
The lawmaker, who represents Lokoja II constituency, paid the JAMB registration fees of  thirty(30) students from Koton- Karfe, where each student received the sum of Six Thousand five hundred Naira(N6,500) as JAMB Registration fees.
Speaking at the event which took place at the lawmaker’s Felele residence, the President of Koton- Karfe Student Union, Comrade Alhassan  Hamza commended Hon Idris Ndako for coming to their rescue, stressing that they know what delayed payment of registration fees could do to a student’s academic pursuit.
“I contacted the lawmaker representing my constituency severally but without any positive response, I have to contact Hon Idris Ndako who promised to look into our plights today we have gathered here to receive our registration fees. I want to use this medium to thank Hon Idris Ndako for His selfless service to humanity,” he said.
Earlier in his speech, Hon Ndako called on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the token given to them.
The lawmaker who expressed his determination to uplift the standard of education said; “my efforts to uplift the standard of education know no barrier especially at this time of economic crunch where many parents are not able to met up the educational requirements of their children “
He appealed to individuals and well spirited Nigerians to assist the less privilege among the society so that they can all be proud of those coming behind.
Some of the  beneficiaries who spoke with this reporter expressed appreciation to the lawmaker.
Comrade Adamu Ustaz Shamsudeen, a beneficiary called on elected representatives to emulate Hon Idris Ndako whom he described as a philanthropist and leader to all.
The highlights of the  events include the presentation of N6,500 JAMB Registration fees to each beneficiary.
