The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has donated relief materials to the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for onward delivery to displaced persons in the territory.
The displaced persons are from communities involved in crisis between neighbouring Nasarawa and kogi states.
Presenting the relief materials in Abuja, the Federal Commissioner, Hajiya Sadiya Farouk said the gesture was to alleviate the condition of the displaced persons.
The Federal Commissioner who was represented by the organisation’s Director of Refugees and Migration, Mr. Lawal Hamidu assured that the Federal government will continue to meet the needs of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) while also making efforts to help them return home.
Receiving the items, the Director General of the FCT Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Abbas Idriss said both agencies were working together to address humanitarian challenges in the territory.
Items donated included food items, educational materials and farm inputs as well as other household items.
