National Honours: Kogi Poly Rector Congratulates Ata Igala, ACReSAL Project Coordinator

Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Dr. Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, the Ata Igala, President Kogi State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chancellor, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, on his conferment with the revered National Honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR), by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the Polytechnic’s Head, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Uredo Omale, the Rector also congratulated the Project Coordinator, Kogi State Agro-Climatic Resilience Semi Arid Land Scape (ACReSAL) Barrister Ladi Ahmed Jatto, on her recognition with the prestigious national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

Dr Salisu described the national recognition and honour bestowed on Ata Igala as well deserved.

“Agaabaidu, the cheering news of this iconic National Honour did not come to the Polytechnic Community as a surprise, considering the exemplary sense of unity,  moral discipline, peaceful coexistence and sociocultural harmony you have clearly demonstrated since your ascension to the throne of your forebears.

“Since your ascension, you have, through words and deeds, shown that you are indeed a father committed to the growth and prosperity of Igalaland, Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

“Your cross-cultural appeals have endeared you to many, within and outside your domain, as a father who is genuinely committed to national consciousness and patriotic fervour.

“We have, therefore, no doubt that the revered honour will spur you to sustain the tempo of your fatherly disposition to the ideals of nation building,” the statement said. 

Dr. Salisu added that he was not surprised at the feat recorded by the Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, stressing that the national award is well deserved in view of the fact that Barr Jatto has distinguished herself through her immense contributions and commitment to the development of the country.

“Our Dear Project Coordinator, we are not surprised at this feat because of your altruistic commitment as the Project Coordinator, Kogi State Agro – Climatic Resilience Semi Arid Land Scape (ACReSAL).

“The honour is, therefore, a testament to the fact that you are a golden fish that cannot hide, and we are confident that it will spur you to do more for Kogi state and Nigeria as a whole.

“We also appreciate the former President, His Excellency, Muhammadu, Buhari for bestowing on our illustrious daughter the highly cherished honour.”
