A group of Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, members from Kogi State have called on the party at the national level, to be vigilant in the composition of its new national officers so as not to allow its efforts at reorganizing the party come to naught.
The Kogi PDP Group, in a statement signed by Usman Enape, particularly warned the party to be wary of efforts by a National Caretaker Committee member, Barrister Kabiru Usman, who is plotting to transmute into the National Publicity Secretary of the Party at the forthcoming Port-harcourt convention.

Usman to aspire to the office despite the agreement and public pronouncement for members of the present National Caretaker Committee Members not to contest in the Port-harcourt convention.
The PDP members disclosed that such action by Barr Usman, would not augur well for a party that is undergoing reorganization and out to check correct its past excesses.
The State PDP commended the National Party for zoning the office of the National Publicity Secretary to the state, assured that the state is blessed with quality men who will fill the position without going against the party’s decision.
The group in the State PDP urged Barr Kabiru, who is not a journalist by profession, to tow the path of honour not to aspire for the office of the Publicity Secretary in the forthcoming convention so as not to drag the name of the State to disrepute.
The group also called on the immediate and past governors of the state, to distance themselves from the ambition of Barr Kabiru, by serving larger interest and to be statesmen, by allowing fairness, justice and equity.
