The leadership of National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) has been dissolved by the senate and local chapters of the association.
The executive led by Comrade Ahmed Usman Shehu (Seme), the national president, was knocked as a way of resolving the impasse in the student body.
A caretaker committee was set up with a mandate to conduct a free, fair and credible convention where new leadership will be elected on March 29.
Presidents of local chapters of NAKOSS met with Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Salisu Ogu Sani; Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Youths, Sports and Student Affairs, Comrade MD Eseyin and Senior Special Assistant on Student Matters to fashion out ways to conduct fair convention on Monday. The meeting resolved to sack the executive of NAKOSS whose tenure had since expired, having stayed beyond the twelve calendar months provided for in the constitution.
Comrade Abubakar Sadiq Ojima emerged Chairman, caretaker committee while Abraham Jacob Damilare was appointed Secretary of the committee.
Other members of the interim leadership includes; Muhammed Asuku Musa, public relations officer; Abbas Aliu Omeiza, member; Ali Saeed Amodu, member; Doris Onize Gabriel, member; Olugbemi Ojotina, member; Hussein Usman Attaja, member and Bala Yusuf , member.
