Muri Ajaka Mourns as 12 SDP Supporters Die in Road Accident

No less than twelve supporters of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi state lost their lives in an accident along Anyigba-Ankpa road on Saturday.

It was gathered that the SDP supporters from Ankpa local government were going to Anyigba for a party meeting when the bus conveying them had an head-on collision with another vehicle.

In a statement issued on Saturday night, the SDP governorship candidate, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka said he received the news with profound sorrow.

The statement read:

“In a deeply somber turn of events, the Ankpa community and the political landscape have been struck by an unforeseen tragedy. Reports confirm the loss of 12 dedicated Ankpa supporters en route to Anyigba, sending shockwaves through the hearts of many.

“The news, received with profound sorrow, brings immense sadness to our hearts. These individuals, vibrant members of our community, were on a journey to support their cause, propelled by their unwavering dedication and commitment to their beliefs.

“Words cannot adequately convey the depth of our condolences and sympathies to the families and friends directly affected by this heart-wrenching accident. Their irreplaceable loss leaves a void that words cannot fill.
