In what can be described as chain of victories, the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday upheld the election of the Senator representing Kogi central senatorial district, Senator Ahmed Ogembe, and dismissed the appeal filed by the SDP Candidate, Moses Wokili.
The court in its unanimous decision, dismissed the appeal brought before it by Moses Wokili of the SDP for lack of locus standi to challenge the case being sort, as he was no longer a member of PDP as at the time he filed his petition.
The court also upheld the objection of the respondent that the petition was improperly filed since the appellant failed to pay the correct filing fees.
The three man panel of Judges subsequently upheld the Tribunal’s verdict and reaffirmed Sen. Ahmed Ogembe as the Senator representing Kogi central senatorial district.
Reacting to the Judgment through his media aide, Senator Ogembe, hailed the eminent Judges that presided over the case and praised the Judiciary for living up to expectations.
“We are happy and thank God for everything. To our people whose mandate is once again validated today, we assure them that we will never let them down” the Senator added.
