Executive Chairman of Mopamuro Local Government Area, Hon. Ademola Bello, has presented a proposed budget estimate of N7,082,870,940 billion to the council legislatures for consideration and approval.
The budget breakdown shows N1,787,947,930 voted for personnel cost, N1,814,297,570 for overhead cost, and capital projects will gulp N3,480,625,440.
In a statement signed by the Chairman’s media aide, Olowu Juwon, the budget, tagged “Budget of Hope and Prosperity”, aims to improve the living standard of Mopamuro residents, focusing on social development, infrastructure, youth and women empowerment.
The Chairman assured citizens of his administration’s commitment to prioritizing their welfare, ensuring timely payment of salaries, and enhancing the overall quality of life.
He explained that the budget target key areas, including infrastructure development viz-a-viz upgrading roads, markets, and public facilities. On social development, the Chairman promises enhanced education, healthcare, and social services.
Other key areas are economic growth and improved security.
Legislative Council Leader, Rt. Hon. Odunayo Olupeka, pledged the council’s support for the budget’s successful implementation, promising thorough oversight and transparency.
Hon. Bello reassured residents of his commitment to neutralizing criminal activities and urged citizens to join hands with his administration to make Mopamuro an exemplary local government.
The Chairman praised Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his outstanding achievements and support in strengthening local government security architecture.
