Hon. Destiny commended the Legislative Council, under the Rt. Hon Mercy Olupeka, for the seamless consideration and passage of the executive bills. Both were maiden bills passed by the Mopamuro Council Legislators.

The council chairman explained that the move was to curb herders/farmers clashes and address general insecurity in Mopamuro.

Under the Mopamuro Local Government Area Agricultural Produce Protection and Herders Liability law,
grazing hours shall be 6am to 5pm daily.

The law mandates strict compliance as any herder that contravenes the relevant section of the law shall be liable to a fine N1 million and a commensurate compensation to the farmer(s).

The council chairman enjoined land owners to adhere to the new Mopamuro Local Government Area Land Allocation And Management Law.

Land owners within Mopamuro communities are enjoined to keep them clean to avoid revocation as there shall be periodic inspection by appropriate body to this effect. Leaving undeveloped lands bushy constitutes nuisances, security, and environmental threats to the communities.

Task force was immediately set up to effect compliance with the two laws.
