A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Sunday Karimi, has called on communities in Kogi state to collaborate with government for even and radio development.

Speaking at the 2021 Mopa Day on Saturday, Karimi expressed optimism that all ongoing projects embarked upon by the Governor Yahaya Bello-led administration will be completed in no distant time.

Karimi, who represented Yagba federal constituency twice in the House of Representatives between 2011-2019, attributed the slow pace of work on some projects in the state to the reduction in Federal allocation occasioned by the dwindling in oil revenue.

The former lawmaker also urged communities in the area to engage in development initiatives as it is becoming increasingly difficult for government to provide all amenities.

He called on people of Mopamuro local government area to support Governor Yahaya Bello in his quest to move the state forward. He also enjoined people of the area to support the APC led government at the national level so as to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Karimi, in his message to Mopa people, noted that Governor Bello means well for the people and sincerely keen on infrastructural development of every part of the state.

He said all that is required is for political leaders, religious institutions, traditional rulers, stakeholders and indeed the people of Kogi State to give him the needed support for development to happen.

He said a critique of Governor Bello’s administration shows that the governor has banished ethnicity, nepotism and tribal suspicion that have held the state down.

He said the appointment of government officials, citing of key infrastructural projects adequately reflects fairness, equity and even spread; which was absent in past administrations.

Karimi said the citing of Rice Mill in Kogi West, upgrading and rehabilitation of health institution , electrification and roads construction in the Senatorial district among several other projects have demonstrated statesmanship.

“Governor Bello therefore requires the prayers, solidarity and support of everyone to drive the state forward.”

Karimi made a donation of N500,000 to the community as acknowledged by the Mopa Development Association.

In a similar development, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo; Mopamuro Council chairman, Moses Sunday and two other appointees jointly donated N500,000 to the community.
