As Nigeria moves towards another round of general election, women and youths have been urged to partake in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR), by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The charge was given recently by the chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO), Hajia Hassiat Suleiman during a ward meeting in Ihima.
Hajia Hassiat who noted that political apathy is unhealthy to the development of any society urged the youths and women who she described as being indispensable to obtain their Permanent Voters Card in order to make an informed choice.
“We must all contribute our quota for the success of this administration by obtaining our PVCs. Voting in an election is our civic responsibility and this is practically impossible without PVC”, she said.
While appreciating the women for their support for the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello-led administration, Hajia Hassiat affirmed that the state is on the path of socio-economic development through the visionary leadership qualities of the Governor.
She charged the people to be more focused and shun peddling of unfounded information about the government, noting that the era of reckless government shrouded in secrecy is over.
