Member representing Idah/Igalamela-Odolu/Ibaji/Ofu Federal Constituency of Kogi state, Hon. Emmanuel Makoji Egwu has flayed the former acting governor of Kogi state, Chief Clarence Olafemi for calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to reverse ministerial appointment he made last week.

Speaking with Daily Post in Abuja, Egwu expressed concern that such divisive statement could come from a former speaker and an acting governor, saying it was uncalled for.

Hon. Egwu explained that the former acting governor lacked the ‘locus standi’ to call for reversal of appointments made, noting that he was out to foist his personal interest above that of the entire state.

He wondered at how somebody should agitate for withdrawal of Stephen Ocheni’s ministerial appointment looking at his academic pedigree as a professor of accounting which would be of paramount importance to the nation at this time of recession.

“In what capacity is he calling for reversal of the Ministerial nominee? Clarence Olafemi has no locus standi to call for reversal of any appointment. President Buhari is not a puppet, he is not under the whims and caprice of anybody and I don’t think, he will listen to him,” he posited.

Part of the variable taken into consideration, he said, was the population status of Kogi East Senatorial flank, adding that the APC was trying to balance its appointments, hence, the logic presented by Olafemi was awkward.

He urged government at all levels to be wary of the likes of former governors, stressing that their views could be misleading.
