Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye is a humble, reliable, dependable, trusted, resourceful, accessible, honest and God fearing Ijumu citizen. He is a respecter of elders, youths and constituted authorities.
Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye, member Kogi State House of Assembly, representing Ijumu Constituency was born on the 19th August, 1971 at his home town, Ekinrin/Adde into a humble family background where humility, hard work, respect for elders and dedicated to duty are the watchwords.
He started his working career as an Assistant Secretary/Clerk House Committee on Science and Technology, House of Representatives during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year in 2000/2001.
Based on his shinning performance as a corps member, the House of Representatives immediately gave Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye a permanent employment.
Between 2001-2003, he was the Personal Assistant to the Chairman House Committee on Science and Technology, House of Representatives, Abuja.
In 2003, he became the Legislative Assistant to the Chairman House Committee on Works at the House of Representatives. The position he held till 2007 meritoriously.
Satisfied with his legacies as a staff of National Assembly his people, Ekinrin/Adde beckoned on him to come and represent them at Ijumu Legislative Council. Thus, in 2008, he contested as councilor Ekinrin/Adde ward under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He won with landslide victory.
Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye on completion his tenure as the councilor of Ekinrin/Adde ward in 2011, distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi quickly appointed him as his Legislative Aide. He served the Nation and Ijumu people at that level with all sense of humility and dedication.
In June 2015, Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye became the representative of Ijumu people at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Lokoja.
He is currently the Chairman House Committee on Works, Vice Chairman House Committee on Establishment and Public Service Matters and Member of many committees in the House of Assembly.
The people of his community (Ekinrin-Adde) will not forget easily his free for all Computer Training Programme with no fewer than 60 beneficiaries. Infact, there is no sector of economy that Ade Omofaiye did not touch as a councilor and a legislative Aide.
As a member of Kogi State House of Assembly, currently representing Ijumu Constituency, Hon. Omofaiye has raised motions aimed at improving on the standard of living of Ijumu and Kogi people in general.
Some of the motions moved on the floor of the State House of Assembly by this humble and advocate of the masses are:
- Motion calling on the State government for the completion of Ekinrin-Adde and Iyara township roads.
- Motion calling for the reconstruction of Okoro-Ayeh-Aiyegunle roads.
- Motion calling on the State Government to establish Kogi State Television Station in Lokoja.
- Motion calling on the state Government to address the menace of Fulani “Herdsmen” in Ijumu Local Government.
As the chairman House Committee on Works and Housing, Omofaiye led his committee on tour of all on-going road projects across the state last year as part of their oversight function.
Omofaiye has touched lives in his constituency in no small measure. So far, he has drilled six boreholes in different communities in his Ijumu constituency.
He paid NECO fees for thirty (30) students in Secondary Schools (Public and private) in Ijumu Local Government Area and gave out scholarship awards to some indigent students of Ijumu origin in tertiary institutions. He equally provided exercise books and chalks worth millions of naira to primary and secondary schools in Ijumu Local Government Area. He provided some food items to Ijumu Students in tertiary institutions
He empowered some Ijumu women through Mrs. Modupe Omofaiye skills acquisitions scheme and extended over N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) only to Ijumu Development Movement (IDM) for its program. He has been working in harmony with Ijumu Development Movement by attending their meetings and conference to discuss way forward for Ijumu constituency.
The lawmaker opened and operated a functional constituency office in Iyara.
No wonder the Senator representing Kogi West, Otunba Dino Melaye once declared that; “Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye my brother, every Okun youth should be proud of you. I commend your effort in Kogi State House of Assembly and I must confess you are doing a wonderful job for our people. I am proud of you”
