Former member, House of Representatives and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Duro Meseko has congratulated the former Managing Director/CEO of UBA Chad, Mallam Aliyu Salami on his appointment as the new Executive Chairman of Kogi State Board of Internal Revenue.
He described Salami as the best hand for the job.
In a statement released in Lokoja on Tuesday, Hon Meseko said Salami who was a Chief Executive Officer of the UBA was one of the bright stars whose unique inputs and vision repositioned the bank to the enviable height it is in the global banking world today.
“His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello has head hunted one of the best hands in the industry to manage the state’s revenue agency and he must be commended for the bold step. Salami’s sterling records and ability to deliver would no doubt begin to yield the requisite dividends for the state within the shortest possible time.
“My advice to Salami is to hit the ground running immediately as there is so much to be done to boost the revenue profile of our dear State,” he said.
Meseko urged the new revenue helmsman to see his appointment as a rescue mission for a state that needs all the resources it could muster for development, adding that he had no doubts that posterity would write his name in gold at the end of the day.
