Melaye Extends Succor to Flood Victims in Budan, Lokoja Local Government

The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye has expressed concern over the perennial flooding in the State especially Lokoja and Kogi local government areas and its environs occasioned by heavy rain, saying it has caused severe hardship to the residents of the area and has extended the hand of fellowship to the flood victims as he donate food and relief materials to them.
Senator Dino Melaye acknowledged the fact that household properties and other valuables had been lost to the flood but thanked God that no life had been lost.
Mr. Ezekiel Kaura representing Melaye sympathizes with the plights of the people, stressing that the legislator will be working with relevant government agencies assiduously to ensure that the perennial flooding being faced by the people of the State was controlled and the hardship reduced to the barest minimum.
Melaye noting that residents of the flood affected areas had a vital role to play in assisting the government’s efforts in checking the menace of the flood, it called on them to desist from erecting illegal structures on natural water ways and dumping of waste in the drains.
Also at the presentation, Hon. Danladi Bababudan, a former House of Assembly member, while Alhaji Salihu Mammalafia, the Sokyakwo of Budan received the items on behalf of the Aganchu of Budan, HRH Alhaji Sanni Mohammed.
The Aganchu of Budan commended senator Dino for coming to their aid in this time of need.
He however made it clear that the construction of Budan road by senator Dino Melaye is a monumental achievement that the Budan people will ever remain grateful for.
He prayed that the Almighty God will continue to bless and protect the senator.
