As many upcoming artist keep doing wonderful things in Nigeria music industry, I have decided not to go the normal route of bringing you some of the most-talented fast-rising actresses in Nollywood and rather bring one of the hottest properties of the Nigerian music industry, another street music merchant.
Born Isa Usman, but more popularly known by his stage name “Simple Boy”, is a fast rising and talented singer and songwriter. He was born on 17th of April 1997 in Ankpa, Kogi state, but grew up on the Abuja outskirt town, Kado fish market.
Simple Boy, who like many other Afrobeat singers, said his motivation to go into music came from the Afrobeat legend, Burna, Davido and Wizkid. The singer who sings predominantly in English language, mixes it up well with Igala and Hausa languages.
The fast-growing singer is regularly compared to the likes of lyta, Zinoleesky and mostly with the biggest kid of the street on the block, Young Tizee.
Simple’s music is usually heavily worded with deep meaning lyrics, something close the singer, Timi Dakolo’s. Simple Boy is definitely one to watch out for in 2021.
The singer is currently unsigned and still an independent artist. Simple Boy’s music came into the limelight after he dropped his hit single “Kilamiti” which was released in Abuja 2018 where his fans solicited that he should continue dropping good as they love to listen his song.
Simple has since then gone on to drop several new tunes, one of his most recent he featured on the MMG Gang title ‘Me For You’. Recently, he also just dropped the visuals of his biggest single yet “Mummy”.
He is a free going person, as we’ve learned from his relation with others.
On his tracks, we get to see another side of the singer as he sings an emo-reflective song. It makes you want to have a rethink about life and change somethings about yourself.
