Medical Consultants Donate Relief Materials to Flood Victims in Lokoja

The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Federal Medical Centre Lokoja chapter has donated relief materials to flood victims at the internally displaced persons (IDPs) camps in Lokoja local government area of Kogi State.
Dr. Ogunmola Ayodeji, the state chairman of the association, handed over the relief materials to victims in each of the IDP camps visited in Lokoja on Friday.
He told the victims that the association is carrying out the venture as a way of reaching out to the needy. He advised them to stay healthy by maintaining  hygienic environment to forestall outbreak of infectious  diseases at the camp.
The medical consultants visited the Flood Victims Estate along Ganaja road, Flood Victim Camp at Aniebo Quarters and the IDP camp at Gadumo, all in Lokoja. During the visit, relief materials comprising food items and clothing materials were donated to the flood victims.
At the Gadumo Camp, the materials were received by the representative of Red Cross and NEMA in the presence of representative of Kogi state ministry of environment.
At each of the camps, the representatives of the flood victims expressed gratitude to the MDCAN, FMC Lokoja chapter for the kind gesture.
The Nigerian Medical Association in Kogi state has been at the fore front of assisting victims of the flood disaster in the state. Volunteers medical doctors from the NMA have been managing clinics located in these camps since the flood disaster began.
MDCAN, an affiliate of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), is the umbrella body of specialist doctors.
