The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Youth Empowerment, Sport and Students Affairs, Comrade MD Eseyin, has revealed that the empowerment of youths of the state remains a priority programme of the Governor Yahaya Bello.
Comrade Eseyin made this known while briefing the Committee of the House of Assembly on Youths, Sport and Employment.
He disclosed that all arrangements have been put in place by the state government to provide employment to the youths of the state in order to reduce thuggery, cultism and other vices associated with joblessness.
He explained that Gov. Yahaya Bello-led administration places top priority attention to sport development, adding that Kogi United Football team owned by the state has received government attention and support.
He further stated that the Minister of Water Resources has been contacted on how to develop Omi-Dam in Yagba West Local Government Area for agricultural advantage of the state, so as to empower the Youth through agricultural Sector.
The Special Adviser disclosed that the State Government is giving subvention to various students bodies of the state.
He added that the State Government is collaborating with National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to promote employment opportunities for the youths.
