Kogi State Commissioner for Transport, Joseph Okwoli has reiterated government’s commitment towards ensuring that the state is decongested and given a better outlook.

Okwoli made this known in Lokoja on Wednesday.

He announced that the Ministry has postponed the take off date for the commencement of operations at the Terminus Mega Park. The Commissioner explained that the March 1st, 2020 take-off date is no longer feasible.

He, however, assured that the Ministry is working on modalities that will enhance the smooth take-off of the Terminus Park.

“We are currently working on resolving some hitches that we noticed could hinder the process and smooth take off of the Terminus. We will announce a new date when we are done with our resolve.

We regret any inconvenience it may have caused members of the public, please bear with us,” he said.

Okwoli urged members of the public to be calm as new date for its commencement will be announced soon.

He urged the leadership of the Nigerian Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to continue sensitizing their members on the need to move all vehicles to the Terminus.

This he said would reduce the instances of ‘one chance’, help in proper documentation of vehicles and their movement as well as save lives and properties of travellers.

He insisted that the resources and investment of the government will not be allowed to waste away.
