Lokoja Local Government Area administrator, Honourable Shiru Lawal, in his commitment to provide water to the people of unguwa kura community in ward D, undertook the sinking of motorised borehole at the area which for decades endured perennial water scarcity.
Hon Shiru made this known on Wednesday in Unguwa kura Lokoja.
The ongoing unguwar kura water project is the fourth to be sunk in the traditional wards: B, C, E and D while the Oworo ward also benefited from the administrator’s water program.
The Chief Administrator who was on site to supervised the groundbreaking ceremony today, explained that the provision of water to unguwa kura and it environs with a borehole has become necessary in view of the hardship been faced by the people; “when you take a look at the situations of our people here, it is completely different, despite their proximity to Kabawa they cannot access water. That is why we decided to sink a borehole to cushion the effect of perennial water scarcity faced by the people”.
Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the ward, Hon Maikudi Bature, expressed his profound gratitude to Hon Shiru pointing out that he is impressed by the performance of the Chief Administrator.
“Within a short time, I make bold to say that ward D, been the centre of democracy, benefited more from Shiru developmental initiatives. Last time it was a bridge, now a borehole, we thank you”, he said.
Speaking through his aide, the Hakimi of ward D and the Turaki of Lokoja, Alhaji Ahmad Musa Nasidi, commended the chief administrator for coming to the rescue of the people of his domain.
The royal father who was represented by Murtala Nasidi, described the Administrator as a young man with vision and prayed Allah to protect and guide the council boss as he steers the Local Government affairs to a greater height.
The chairman of Civilian Joint task Force, CJTF, in the ward D, Comrade Danlami Abdulsalm, while speaking with journalists at the project site, assured the chairman that the project would received the maximum protection from his members.
“Let me assure you Mr Chairman sir, that we will do everything possible to jealously protect this project from vandals”
The Chief administrator who was received by APC stalwarts from the ward, was accompanied by his chief of staff, Hon Danlami Ladan; Hon Yabagi Umar, special adviser on media to the administrator and a host of water engineers.
