Lokoja NYCN Felicitates With New Caretaker Chairman

The President of Lokoja Local Government chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has congratulated the newly appointed caretaker chairman for the area, Hon (Hon) Lawal Shiru.

In a press statement signed by the Association’s Director of Media and Publicity, Yabagi Mohammed, the President described the mandate given the chairman as divine.

He felicitated with the people of the area and expressed optimism that the tenure of the new man at the helms of affairs would usher in good tidings at the LGA.

The NYCN president, who enjoined the caretaker helmsman to look into the plight of staff of the Council in view of the hardship being endured as a result of unpaid salaries and arrears, said Hon Shiru should take a critical look at the situation in order to address it.

Comrade Adamu, who opined that staff of the council who are the engine room of every administration, have endured much difficulty arising from inability to foot their bills, appeals for compassion towards them.

The President particularly expressed joy that Hon Shiru is a young man who understands the rudiments and complexities of a Local Government Area like Lokoja, and opined that his antecedents has shown him to be an individual with vision needed for positive development.

He was also particular in congratulating the people of Lokoja Local Government, and solicited their prayers and concerted support for the success of the new caretaker chairman.

Comrade Abdullahi, according to the statement, called on the chairman to also look into the plights of Lokoja Local Government youths, who have been short-change for far too long in the affairs of Kogi state.

The NYCN leader praised the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the speaker, Rt. Hon Umar Ahmed Imam and everyone who played one role or the other towards the successful emergence of Hon Lawal Shiru as the caretaker chairman.
