Kogi State government has commended the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Kogi State Chapter, for their support and political maturity displayed over the extension of tenure of Local Government Administrators in the state.

The Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Inter Party Affairs, Abdullahi Hayatu made the commendation at a meeting with IPAC and other political stakeholders in Lokoja, the state capital.

Hayatu said, the statement credited to IPAC in the media on the extension in tenure of Local government Administrators shows clearly that the Council is living above board and refuse to play politics with such important and matured decision by the state governor.

He said further that, the reasons deduce for government’s in ability to conduct the Local government election at the moment is genuine and fundamental to justify such decision and that, the government will surely conduct the election as soon as the situation improves. The stakeholders and indeed the people of Kogi state should rather commend the governor for such wise and matured decision, saying it has really avoided administrative vacuum at that level.

The governor’s aide urged the Conference of Nigerian Political Party (CNPP) to join hand with governor to move the state forward. The government has much respect for them and is willing to hold them as partners in the business of developing the state in line with the new direction agenda.
