Youths in Mopamuro local government area of Kogi state, on Saturday, trooped to the streets of Mopa to protest against the aspiration of immediate past council Administrator, Hon. Moses Sunday David (Alumo)’s to contest the forthcoming chairmanship election.

The protesters said they came out to celebrate the removal of Alumo and other Administrators across the state by Governor Yahaya Bello.

Speaking on behalf of the protesters, Tope Moses Wateko said Alumo does not deserve a return to the council seat.

“Our former Administrator, Moses Sunday David Alumo is a failure as he has nothing to show for his four years in office. As you can see, infrastructures in the local government are in bad shape. The roads linking one community to another, roads and drainage leading to Mopa Mortuary all in Alumo’s Ward 03 are in dilapidated state.

“We have come out in our numbers to register our displeasure and vehemently reject the intention of Alumo to contest as elected Chairman of the local government,” he said.

The protesters marched through the streets of Mopa with placards bearing messages like; “Mopamuro Youths Say No To Alumo”, “GYB Please Don’t Return This Pharaoh”, “Say No To Alumo”, “Tested And Fail”, “Failure Is Your Name Alumo”, “No Single Project By Alumo”, “Mopamuro Needs Another Hands”.
