Coalition of Civil Society Group in Kogi State has flayed the state government and state Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) over what it called the inadequate preparation for the May 4th, council election in the state.
Addressing journalists yesterday in Lokoja, spokesperson of the group, Comrade Abdul Miliki, said, “in view of the inadequate preparation, we doubt if the election will be free and fair”.
Comrade Miliki, who is also the Executive Director, Centre for Human Rights and Conflicts Resolution (CHRCR), said, “despite numerous postponements of the election since the expiration of the tenure of council chairmen in June 2011, a cloud of uncertainty still hangs over the exercise”.
