The success of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairmanship candidate in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State in the forth coming council poll will signal the end of business for some political godfathers and usher in a rebirth for growth and development.
Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor stated this at the inauguration of campaign Committee and sensitization rally in Mopamuro Local Government Area for the forthcoming Council Poll in the State.
The Deputy Governor who noted that the party has made a good choice by electing the party’s flag bearer for the area in the forthcoming Council Poll, urged the people not to be carried away by the antics of those who do not mean well for the party.
Over the years, the area with its rich human and natural potentials had remained backward, a reason Awoniyi attributed to lack of foresight and greed of some past leaders,whose interest had been milking the council dry, said the area is set to witness a new dawn.
The Deputy Governor assured that if voted into power, the party will begin a free education policy and make the provision of water and other basic infrastructures a priority.
Awoniyi, described the party’s flag bearers for the Chairmanship and Councillor ship election in Mopamuro as people with high sense of integrity and who do not have penchant for personal enrichment, called for support from the people to enable them deliver on the vision and mission that will put the area on a fast track of development.
In his speech, Folorunsho Daniyan, the PDP Chairmanship flag bearer, assured that aside the distribution of free exercise books and textbooks, he intends to by September if elected declare a free education policy for the area.
Various speakers at the occasion all lauded the good qualities of the party’s choice of candidates for the Local Government Area.
They assured of a peaceful and violent free polls come May 4th, 2013.
