We the leaders of Ebira democratic youth for good governance an umbrella of the youth which promote democracy and good governance in Ebira kingdom, after series of meetings and consultations with all the stakeholders and concern members of the public.
We wish to inform the general public especially the good people of Okehi local government area that we have adopted Honourable Hassan Okehi Yusuf as our candidate for the may 4th 2013 local government election in kogi state.
Honourable Okehi has demonstrated clearly in the last 8 months as the liaison officer 1 of Okehi local government that he is a seasoned administrator with an excellent administrative acumen. He has distinguish himself as a philanthropist who does not discriminate along tribe or religion, a very accessible and trustworthy leader, an epitome of humility, a bridge between the young and the old, a pace setter and a dedicated leader per excellent who associate freely with youth and student.
Within a short period of 8months in office as liaison officer 1 of Okehi local government, Hon. Okehi has been able to achieve much to the admiration of everybody in the local government despite the financial constrain and low allocation accruing to the local government area.
- Few among his numerous achievements includes;
- Purchase and distribution of 10 transformers, (7 to Ihima district and 3 to Aeyika district) to boost electricity supply,
- Construction of ultra modern health center at Abobo
- Construction of Obeiba bridge
- Distribution of free fertilizers to farmers to boost agricultural production
- Maintenance of dilapidated roads in the LGA
- Free computer training for youths and students to enhance their capacity
- Poverty alleviation program for widows and less privilege members of the society
- Scholarships to students and donation to students union bodies
- Donation to religion bodies
- Reduction of crime rate, violence and youth restiveness through youth empowerment
- Purchase of patrol van to police and financing vigilante/police partnership
- Reduction of clannish tussle rampaging Okehi local government and sustenance of peaceful atmosphere for economic growth and development of the local government.
We urge the good people of Okehi local government area to support and vote Honourable Hassan Okehi Yusuf as the next chairman of Okehi local government area as we believe he has the capacity to deliver the dividend of democracy to the people and he will be an answer to leadership and good governance challenges facing Okehi local government area.
His experience and good leadership style will take okehi local government to the next level that will be a reference point of democracy in action in the state and beyond, from poverty to wealth through job creation, youth and woman empowerment, provision of social amenities provision of basic standard education, enhance of local government staff welfare.
