LG Election: Ward Heads, Elders Council Endorse Okene Administrator

The 14 ward heads, Elders Advisory Council and the two district heads of Okene Local Government have endorsed the aspiration of Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad to contest chairmanship election in the forthcoming council polls in Kogi state.

The delegation of respected stakeholders made their decision known when they paid the Administrator a courtesy visit in his office on Wednesday.

The delegation congratulated the Council boss on his achievements so far in office and praised him for maintaining peace during and after the governorship election.

The Chairman of Elder Advisory Council for Okene/Ogori Magongo Federal Constituency, Alh. Sheriff who spoke on behalf of the delegation commended the Council Administrator for leading the local government to the right path.

He said since the Administrator took the mantle of leadership, he has changed the face of politics in Okene Local Government and created a peaceful atmosphere in the council despite the harsh political terrain of the area.

They said the endorsement  became necessary because the good people of the Council are desirous of his leadership qualities, his peaceful disposition and his open door policy.

“The Administrator has performed creditably well during this period of probation, hence, we are convinced he will develop the Council according to our needs and aspirations,” he said.

The Administrator, in his response, thanked the people’s representatives and assured them of his readiness to do more good for the Council when elected.

Muhammad said his aspiration was born out of pure desires to serve the people and contribute to the peace and development of the area.
