Rt. Hon. Elder Leke Joseph Abejide, member representing the good and highly versatile people of Yagba Federal Constituency in the 10th Assembly, stands as a true lover and steadfast champion of the Okun Nation.
His record of service and exemplary leadership acumen is remarkable, marked by achievements that sets him apart from his predecessors across Okun federal constituencies.
His legacies are worthwhile, already evident and will continue to speak loudly for him in the years to come.
For those who might not know him, who is Rt. Hon. Elder Leke Joseph Abejide?
In simple terms, he is humility and meekness personified. He is a leader who consistently places the interest of his people—Okun at large—above personal considerations.
Above all, he is a God-fearing man and quintessentially religious.
This is evident in the calibre of individuals across Okun Nation, who regularly visit his political and business establishments, a clear testimony to his character, people – centric, kindness, compassion, and uncommon generosity.
Leaders of this nature come once in a generation, and Okun Nation is indeed, blessed to have him as our representative.
Congratulations to all Okun indigenes, both at home and in the diaspora, for this rare blessing!
Beyond the boundaries of his constituency, Rt. Hon. Elder Abejide recently offset the WAEC fees for all private secondary school students in Yagba and Kabba-Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituencies and has also indicated plans to extend this rare gesture to Lokoja/Koto, subject to approval.
In recognition of tradition and cultural heritage, he accorded the highest honour to all traditional rulers in his constituency, a gesture that has now been extended to their counterparts in Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu Federal Constituencies—bringing joy and renewed hope to many.
For the records, this gesture is unprecedented in the political annals of Okun nation.
At this critical time in the history of Okun nation, Rt. Hon. Elder Leke Joseph Abejide has proven himself as a leader divinely and strategically positioned to serve and uplift his people, irrespective of status, religion, gender, tribe and other extraneous considerations.
This vision and foresightedness is further reflected in his unwavering commitment to the Okun Unity House project, a landmark initiative close to his heart, conceived as a central meeting point and symbol of identity for all Okun sons and daughters across the world.
In the spirit of unity and progressive politics and societal progress, he also extended his Christmas goodwill to Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu (KBI) Constituency in December 2025, in solidarity of his political ally and protégé, Hon. Arc. Salman Idris, whom he actively campaigned for into the Green Chamber of the 10th Assembly.
Albeit, he is just two years in office, Hon. Idris is widely expected to deliver resounding performance inspired by the exemplary leadership of his mentor and benefactor, Rt. Hon. Elder Leke Joseph Abejide.
Indeed, Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide remains a rare pride of Okun Nation.
Our collective prayers to God, the Creator of the universe, is that He continues to protect, guide, and strengthen him for many more years, so that he may remain a vessel in God’s hands—bringing blessings, progress, and hope to Okun Nation and beyond, year after year.
