Kogi State Referees Council is organizing a one-day seminar for coaches, footballers, state referees, club supporters and other stakeholders on new amendments in the laws of the game.

A statement signed by Engr. S.S. Bello said the seminar will bring sports professionals, experts and administrators together to discuss role of football supporters and sport hooliganism.

He said the seminar is in line with the sport and referees development programs of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Nigeria Referees Association (NRA).

Scheduled to hold on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the NUJ Press Centre, Lokoja, the seminar will enable participating players and coaches recognize and understand the current changes in the laws of the game.

With the theme: “Understanding Refereeing and the Laws of the Game for the Betterment and Improvement of Football in Kogi State”, Engr Bello explained that the training will provide introduction to the principles of quality officiating for referees.

He added that the event, organised in partnership with Kogi State Football Association, will create an avenue to interface with football supporters’ club on dynamics of supporting football teams, emphasising on roles and responsibilities.
